weekend

Well, we are slowly getting settled. We got the keys to our new place yesterday. We now live in a complex called Tapestry on Central, which was built in 2005. Our landlord is just a real estate agent who lives in the building and bought two condos, one of which he rents to us. It is a one-bedroom with a balcony on the 4th floor. We also have a community pool, workout room (it's really sweet, Curt and I just used it today), barbeque grills, and mini movie theatre. We are really happy with it and can't wait for the rest of our belongings to come with Shirley and Justin next week.

I am a little bit nervous about starting work tomorrow, but it is two weeks of orientation and then the students come on August 13th.

Tonight I think we are going to see my cousin Nathan play somewhere in town, which should be fun. His girlfriend Taryn is a real estate agent who helped us out tremendously with getting a place.

arrived

hello! we have arrived! we got into Phoenix last night around 11 (after 15 hours on the road).

today was very productive as we looked at 7 places. we really liked one and if the application goes through, we will be moving in as early as Saturday!

new beginnings

Well, we are leaving tomorrow morning. It's been a really busy weekend hanging out with friends and getting packed up.

I'm not sure when we'll have internet next, but I'll update you when I can.

road trip

I thought this might be of interest to some of you. Here is the route we're taking down to Phoenix. It's a little bit longer than need be, but we are visiting Curt's high school friend Matt in Wyoming and his cousin Peter in Boulder.

the countdown

well, the countdown is well underway. we have less than two weeks left in Minneapolis. we are leaving on Monday, July 23rd for our new life in Phoenix.

there's a lot to do!

my cousin Kris has been staying for a few days, which has been fun. tomorrow i'll go up to Aitkin for the last time before the move. we are having a baby shower for my sister.

i'm not sure how long i'll keep up with this blog, but i thought it would be good to try it for awhile. it was fun having one while i was in New Zealand.
